OUPV Captain's License

The Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels credential — the “six-pack” — is examined in modules, and which modules you sit depends on the route you apply for. Question counts and passing scores below are the National Maritime Center's own, from the Deck and Engineering Examination Guide; they are Coast Guard policy and are not in the regulations, which is why third-party sites disagree about them.

Study aid only — it certifies nothing, and it is not a Coast Guard–approved course. Passing scores and question counts are from the National Maritime Center Deck and Engineering Examination Guide (MCP-MA-NMC2-08(01)); topic lists are from the NMC's published examination topics. Where we quote a regulation or a Coast Guard publication we reproduce it word for word and say which document it came from.
